IFLA will be holding its 88th IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) in Rotterdam, Netherlands from 21st to 25th August 2023 in the new Ahoy Convention Center.

At the trade exhibition, which takes place beside the congress from August 22 – 24, Neschen represents its solutions for book care and highlights this year the sustainable organic series, based on sugarcane. The filmolux^® soft organic and filmolux^® libre organic book protection films are manufactured using bio-based polyethylene (Bio-PE), which is derived from a renewable resource, sugar cane. Sugar cane binds CO₂ from the atmosphere during growth, and its bio-polyethylene contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional polyethylene, which is made from fossil materials.

The filmolux^® organic series is a better ecological balance than petrochemical polyethylene. Book protection itself and sustainable book protection films – an ecological match that strikes a chord. Neschen will also be showing many other self-adhesive repair tapes and films from the portfolio, for the protection, professional repair and care of books. These products, along with the necessary tools and equipment for their utilization, are frequently employed in archives, libraries, and museums.

The IFLA World Library and Information Congress will provide a platform for fostering collaboration, acquiring knowledge, and inventing, as well as bringing together friends and work colleagues. With the motto “Let’s work together, let’s library”, IFLA explores how libraries can contribute to an inclusive society, one in which everyone has the opportunity to participate.
